Retriever Training Drills for Marking and Retriever Training Drills for Blind Retrieves by James Spencer provide some good drills for marking and handling/blind retrieves…especially the marking one for JH level work…gives specific exercises to work on to teach concepts you will see in tests.
Sound Beginnings by Jackie Mertens….puppy retrieving for field work. Could also be used with inexperienced older dogs. Good demonstrations of drills, etc to introduce retrieving and build desire.
The Trained Retrieve by TriTronics 2 tape series. A very good step-by step demonstration of teaching “hold” and “fetch”. Does demonstrate more use of the e-collar for training these concepts than many trainers use. Good for seeing the appropriate reactions that a dog should have to the collar.
