Welcome to the official Website of
Treasure Coast Retriever Club
Treasure Coast Retriever Club (AKC) and Treasure Coast Hunting Retriever Club (UKC/HRC) are dedicated to improving the retrieving breed, in training and testing of retrievers, and in the fellowship, cooperation and learning that can take place when people and dogs are working to reach mutual goals of excellence.
The TCRC is a “Dual Club”, that is we belong to both the American Kennel Club, Inc., and the Hunting Retriever Club, which is affiliated with the United Kennel Club, Inc. Both National organizations license their respective events, maintain our retriever’s points and qualifying scores, and award the titles that our retrievers earn. The Treasure Coast Retriever Club is also a Charter Member of the Master National Retriever Club, which is affiliated with the AKC. Five qualifying scores from AKC Master Hunt Tests earn you and your dog an invitation to the annual Master National event to test with “the best of the best”. Not to be outdone, the UKC hosts its annual “Grand” which tests “Finished” dogs to the limit of the standard in both retrieving and upland hunting situations. Members of our club participate in a number of different canine sports including Field Trials, Agility, Conformation, Obedience and more.
The TCRC historically has hosted one HRC Hunt Test per year – typically in January. We also host two AKC tests per year - the first in early February and the Second in early November. In addition to actual hunt tests, our club provides monthly training sessions where we simulate hunt tests. We use the same birds and equipment you can expect to see at a test. Training advice is always available.
The members of the TCRC are very helpful and friendly, and you will have an opportunity to more fully appreciate, enjoy and grow with your hunting dog. Remember, the more you put into your retriever and into your Club, the more you’ll get from them in return.
